Sunny London in March

Get out of bed early, ignore the protestations of the partner, pet, mind, body and get to the coffee machine. From here on its all smooth sailing.

Take the tube or bus or bike to Angel, start on the Islington border and walk the high street up to Union Chapel and back, finding a spot at a table outside at this point in your journey. Persist, be wily if its busy — you’ll secure one without jostling, which can put a dampener on things if you’re a kind soul. Sit, wait for mates to arrive, have a few drinks and enjoy the sun and the inevitable chats with friendly neighbours.

When the sun hides behind the buildings opposite (as its still a bit low on the horizon), put the hoodie back on (you did remember one, didn’t you?) and head over to the canal and settle for something at the lovely Turkish restaurant between the lock and the primary school. Live, laugh, pay and go home. A Lou Reed Perfect Day.
